The scholar of American scientific tests Annie Kelly argued that the alt-appropriate was influenced by a pervasive "discourse of panic about standard white masculinity" in mainstream U.S. In February 2018, the Southern Poverty Law Center assembled a list of thirteen violent incidents between 2014 and 2018 perpetrated by alt-ideal influenced folks, in which 43 persons died and 67 individuals were being wounded.
