Water flowing up from the ground, sunlight on leaves creating sugar, leaves dropping to create tender forest soil that retains h2o and feeds the tree. We see a chain of people today stretching again hundreds of years who perfected "table." When we look at a tree we see a continuous movement of connected processes: leaves getting in carbon dioxide, placing out oxygen.
