In its first week of release, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and offered 496,000 copies, ultimately registering three million units for a triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It became the first Christmas album by a male artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and bought 210,000 copies in its first week of launch.
