The new Megadeth lineup built its live debut headlining the Dubai Desert Rock Festival in the United Arab Emirates with Testament. Mustaine reformed the band and contacted the supporter-most loved Rust in Peace lineup to re-record backing tracks. Mustaine fired Bud Prager and made the album himself. Megadeth returned to the studio in April to get the job done on its ninth studio album.
