Protesters in North Carolina (not so far from Charlottesville) pulled down a memorial to soldiers that fought for slavery. The Union troopers fought to stop slavery, and sung about that as they marched. No make a difference what admirable own qualities some southern leaders could have had, that are unable to redeem the evil that they fought for - not even a little bit.
