A dour and pessimistic movie about 3 good friends (Yaphet Kotto, Harvey Keitel and Richard Pryor) who do the job the assembly line in a main Detroit vehicle plant, battling poverty as significantly as they tussle with corruption in both their administration and automobile workers’ union, Blue Collar is as notable for Pryor’s swaggeringly melancholic performance as it is for at the rear of-the-scenes anecdotes.
