In April 1998, the Council of Europe established a deadline for compliance of 29 May 1998 and on 21 May 1998, the House of Representatives voted 36 to eight in favour legalising homosexual acts. Neither the European Union nor the Council of Europe have advised any particular age of consent, and there has not been any energy so much to standardize the age across member states. The Section was later on repealed on fourteen August 2002.
