The Tolstoyans were being a little Christian anarchist group formed by Tolstoy's companion Vladimir Chertkov (1854-1936) to distribute Tolstoy's religious teachings. It is the perception that there is only a person resource of authority to which Christians are in the long run answerable, the authority of God as embodied in the teachings of Jesus.
