Church authorities are normally accused of masking up situations of sexual intercourse abuse. On 8 October 2018, a victims group mapped out 255 situations of alleged sex abuse in Poland. Several dioceses adopted the exercise of 1st transferring the majority of their assets to their parishes and foundations just before declaring personal bankruptcy, in the hope of lowering significantly the sum to be awarded to victims.
