If you verify your old ticket and uncover you've won a prize in a previous Powerball draw, you have between 90 and 365 days to claim your winnings, based on exactly where you purchased the ticket .

Federal earnings taxes will be withheld from POWERBALL prizes as necessary by the Internal Revenue Code at the time payments are created.

The 12 tickets worth $1 million have been sold in Arizona, California, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, Texas, 3 in Florida and two in New York.
