While they were being recording at Underground Chicken Sound, a crowd had been loitering outdoors the studio. Korn rented a studio from Jeff Creath named Underground Chicken Sound, in Huntington Beach, California. Korn started off doing at gigs in the summer months of 1993, with associates declaring that touring was a "soreness-in-the-ass." While in Huntington Beach, the band was spotted by Immortal Records A&R staff Paul Pontius.
