I’m not remaining flippant even though the premise would seem rife with likely catastrophe, to start with-time director Hikari truly does massage the humor and kindliness out from what could’ve been patronizing if not outright offensive. Like purely natural place of comparison The Sessions, the film dignifies Yuma’s awakening with a lightheartedness that Hikari recognizes as an integral element of grownup sexuality.
