According to Steve Coll, as of 2019 there is no direct proof displaying Pakistani knowledge of bin Laden's existence in Abbottabad, even by a rogue or compartmented faction in just the govt, other than the circumstantial reality of bin Laden's compound getting found around (albeit not immediately obvious from) the Pakistan Military Academy.
