In response to a research by SCImago in 2012, Iran would rank fourth on the planet when it comes to research output by 2018, if the current pattern persists. Iran has elevated its publication output nearly tenfold from 1996 by means of 2004, and has been ranked first when it comes to output progress rate, followed by China.
