The chauffeur opened the door, and Renée and Cecil stepped from the Bentley on to the burgundy carpeting, passed by means of the revolving doors of 821 Fifth Avenue, and observed them selves in the hushed, exquisite Belgian Art Nouveau lobby. They could hear the murmur of the crowd just outside of the doorways.
