There has been widespread misunderstanding of a 2005 study that identified that 1 in seven youths had obtained an unwanted online sexual solicitation but the authors of that study - the Crimes Against Children Research Center - posted a point sheet that clarifies that these solicitations are generally not from predators and most of the recipients of the solicitations did not view them as critical.
