YouTube has cited the effectiveness of Content ID as a person of the good reasons why the site's principles had been modified in December 2010 to make it possible for some users to add films of unrestricted length. In 2011, YouTube explained Content ID as "extremely correct in acquiring uploads that look similar to reference information that are of ample duration and good quality to make an effective ID File".
