Another way to see the exact theory: Everything is dependent on our reference point. The pink symbols are the diacritical marks included to the consonant to alter the adhering to vowel from "a" to another (see the columns labeled "Diacritic"). Each primary consonant is assumed to be followed by the vowel "a". With no diacritical mark, the assumed vowel is "a", supplying the sound "ta".
