Big Bang flew to Belfast and received the Best Worldwide Act in the course of the 2011 MTV EMAs in Northern Ireland. Also in 2012, Big Bang gained the Best Fan group in the Italian TRL Awards. According to Mark Harris of Entertainment Weekly, if passing the check ended up required, it would have jeopardized half of the 2009 Academy Award for Best Picture nominees.
