The reticulated leaf frog (Phyllomedusa ayeaye) has a solitary opposed digit on each individual fore foot and two opposed digits on its hind toes. One of these, the environmentally friendly burrowing frog (Scaphiophryne marmorata), has a flattened head with a limited snout and effectively-formulated metatarsal tubercles on its hind ft to help with excavation.
