By 1978, Rocky Horror had moved from an earlier San Francisco place to the Strand Theatre situated around the Tenderloin on Market Street. Newsweek, in 1978, called the movie "tasteless, plotless and pointless". The New York Times called it a "very low-finances freak clearly show/cult classic/cultural establishment" with "catchy" songs.
