I like to hold the sinker only 4-6 inches from the hook, this way the bait isn’t up previously mentioned the fish’s head. For this I like to fish it on a bait casting setup in buy to use heavier line and have more control when I pitch this bait into the fish’s nest. Cold drinking water slows the fish’s metabolism and they are fewer possible to feed on an erratically going bait.
