The British movie journal Monthly Film Bulletin referred to as it "the most sickening exhibition of brutality, perversion, intercourse and sadism at any time to be revealed on a cinema screen". It appeared on the 1948 mass-sector Popular Library reprint of a 1925 novel named "The Private Life of Helen of Troy.
