Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki explained he would suggest one January be declared countrywide "Sovereignty Day". The day ahead of Obama's speech, Prime Minister of Iraq Nouri al-Maliki claimed at a press meeting that the govt of Iraq had "no worries" about the impending departure of US forces and expressed self-confidence in the capability of the Iraqi Security Forces and police to maintain order with out US military services aid.
