Toothpastes contain an agent that helps whiten and polish the teeth. However, they are generally mild and may not be as effective as other home whitening products. Pens usually contain a gel which contains hydrogen peroxide. The gel is applied to the teeth with a small brush at the end. The gel takes around 30 seconds to dry and is applied twice daily.
