Slightly Damned: The "beast" (a demon) is informed an in-universe variant of the trope-naming story. This will become less and considerably less of an impediment as the story progresses. There is a minor subversion while, as it turns out Humans Are the Real Monsters who drive them aside, top to the fatalities of the enthusiasts and the capture of the toddler Terra.
