With razor sharp performances from Jack Black (when he was funniest) and the eclectic Tim Robbins, along with a beautifully-pitched script adapted from Nick Hornby’s novel, High Fidelity is the contemporary rom-com of choice. It was the overall performance to defeat all performances in this ten years, a legitimate showstopper.
