Lyrica is an oral anti-epileptic drug approved for treating fibromyalgia (FM), neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy, and partial seizures in adults. The clinical presentation of FM involves the occurrence of widespread musculoskeletal pain and chronic fatigue. Lyrica reduces neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy by preventing sodium channel upregulation and presynaptic calcium channel opening.
