The proposed legislation was referred to the Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection. The monthly bill was when once again handed on to the subcommittee. Controversy arose following director Bill Condon stated there was a "gay second" in the movie, when LeFou briefly waltzes with Stanley, one of Gaston's mates. The bill and other people like it did not triumph for the reason that of possible First Amendment violations.
