In Nepal, textiles have been originally designed for domestic and area use. Fair trade textiles are usually grouped with honest trade crafts and goods created by artisans in contrast to cocoa, coffee, sugar, tea, and honey, which are agricultural commodities. Differing anecdotes state farmers are paid additional or less by traders than by fair trade cooperatives.
