Lisinopril is a medication used to lower high blood pressure. In patients with heart failure, it can improve heart function and prevent further decline in health. Lisinopril should not be used to lower blood pressure in individuals who are unable to take ACE inhibitors like losartan because some individuals may be allergic to the ACE inhibitor class of medications.
