When designed, the cinema experienced a quick pedestrian solution to the facade, which was eradicated when the A56 was widened. After a transform of possession in 1950, the cinema was renamed the Stretford Essoldo. In 2017 a proposal was put ahead by Trafford Council to carry the Essoldo back into use as element of the new University Academy 92, to provide college student facilities and other neighborhood amenities these as an increased library.
