For a film that pipes in Carly Rae Jepsen and Taylor Swift to pander to the children of two a long time ago, this is a weirdly refined and intriguing option. Landing somewhere in between Once and Begin Again tonally, Sing Street is a soppy sweet really like letter to the Dublin of the 80’s packed with childlike joy and speculate, a gaggle of Spielbergian youngsters you just want to hug, and a heap of great fake New Wave jams.
