The plot facilities on five classmates (Jim, Kevin, Oz, Finch, and Stifler) who attend East Great Falls High. When a close friend with "very little experience but fantastic wish" confided his homosexual longings to Charles Griffes in 1916, Griffes took him to the Lafayette so that he could fulfill other homosexual guys and investigate his sexual passions in a supportive atmosphere: the mate was "astounded and fascinated" by what he saw there.
