Between December 10, 2012, and January 8, 2013, the NSA collected metadata on 60 million phone phone calls in Spain. According to documents leaked by Snowden, the surveillance of Spanish citizens was jointly done by the NSA and the intelligence agencies of Spain. The real surveillance procedure was done by French intelligence businesses on behalf of the NSA.
