TSS was obtained by Target Corporation in 1998, was launched in 1916 as the Associated Merchandising Corporation, and was formerly owned by the customers it served. TSS ceased functions in its division-shop team, the division of the former Associated Merchandising Corporation that acted as a purchasing office environment for Saks, Inc., Bloomingdale's, Stage Stores Inc., T.J.Maxx, and Marshalls.
