Puerto Rico's economy is largely driven by production (primarily prescription drugs, textiles, petrochemicals and electronics) adopted by companies (primarily finance, insurance, genuine estate and tourism) agriculture represents fewer than 1% of GNP. Puerto Rico currently has a general public personal debt of $72.204 billion (equivalent to 103% of GNP), and a govt deficit of $2.5 billion.
