They married the similar year. On February 14, 1998, Stone married Phil Bronstein, govt editor of The San Francisco Examiner and later on San Francisco Chronicle. Stone and comic Garry Shandling were pupils of acting coach Roy London and dated briefly. After they divided, Stone returned the engagement ring by means of FedEx. In 2015, Stone was guest of honor at the Pilosio Building Peace Award in Milan.
