Leda’s struggles are largely internal, but I’m self-assured that Gyllenhaal’s uniquely tactile storytelling claims a good offer a lot more than text at any time could. Leda becomes obsessed with Nina, as the latter inadvertently resurfaces troubling reminiscences of Leda’s own distressing ordeals as a mother.
