Mr. Daly argued, and in some way obtained the financial institution to confess, that they created the money with a stroke of a pen at the time of the mortgage (and that there was no actual official legislation empowering them to do so.) Because the bank didn't "put up" something of worth (other than the ink from the pen) for Mr. Daly's home mortgage, there was no consideration, due to this fact the mortgage settlement was null and void.
