On April 10, 1262, the Mongol leader Hulagu sent by means of John the Hungarian a new letter to King Louis IX of France, yet again supplying an alliance. It is unclear no matter whether or not King Louis in fact been given the letter, but at some position it was transmitted to Pope Urban, who answered in a comparable way as his predecessors.
