In April 2008, the "Lady Bird Johnson Memorial Cherry Blossom Grove" was dedicated in Marshfield, Missouri. Lady Bird declined quite a few overtures to title Austin's Town Lake in her honor just after she experienced led a campaign to clear up the lake and insert trails to its shoreline next her dying, Austin Mayor Will Wynn's workplace claimed it was a "foregone summary that Town Lake is likely to be renamed" in honor of Lady Bird Johnson.
