Davis was also encouraged to play the bagpipes by a scene in the 1982 movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, in which the character Mr. Scott performed "Amazing Grace" on the Great Highland bagpipes at the funeral of Mr. Spock. He was the voice of the character Alvin in Alvin and the Chipmunks, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.
