Crystal Dynamics updated the character product to insert additional realism, but retained past style components. In late 2010, Square Enix declared a franchise reboot titled Tomb Raider the new Lara Croft would be a darker, grittier reimagining of the character. Lara Croft primarily appears in the Tomb Raider video activity series revealed by Square Enix Europe (formerly Eidos Interactive).
