Arguably the second-finest cinematic Clive Barker adaptation (Hellraiser currently being top rated banana), Bernard Rose's supernatural thriller stars Virginia Madsen as a scholar who discovers a folks legend, about an undead evil with a hook for a hand (Tony Todd), is all far too actual.
