On January 31, the fifth and last Sexual Misconduct case towards Cuomo, built by Virginia Limmiatis, was dropped by New York district attorney Gregory Oakes, effectively clearing him of all charges. In August 2018, it was described that investigators ended up in the closing levels of their investigation.
